Tafsir, Metode dan Metodologi Dalam Manhaj Al-Mufassirin: Sebuah Kajian Teoritis

Abstract

This study theoretically examines the concepts of interpretation, methods, and methodology in the manhaj al-mufassirin as the main foundation in understanding the Qur'an. Interpretation is positioned as a scientific discipline that functions to explain the meaning of the verses of the Qur'an through linguistic, historical, and theological tools. In the Islamic scientific tradition, the process of interpretation depends not only on individual abilities, but also on the manhaj, namely the patterns, rules, and scientific foundations used by the interpreter in constructing explanations of the sacred text. This study explains the various methods of tafsir tahlili, ijmali, muqarin, and maudhu`i as well as two main approaches, namely tafsir bi al-ma`tsur and tafsir bi al-ra`yi. Through this analysis, it appears that the diversity of methods and methodologies significantly influences the breadth of perspective and character of the results of interpretation. This study emphasizes that understanding these concepts is important to produce interpretations that are systematic, accountable, and in accordance with Islamic scientific principles.
