Abstract

The purpose of this study aims to look at the steps, implications and effects of academic supervision on the optimization of the professional competence of educators. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method with the object of MTsN 7 Wonosalam Jombang. As for data collection using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation.

The results showed that the steps of the academic supervision of the Madrasah Principal in optimizing the professional competence of educators at MTsN 7 Jombang began with planning, implementing, evaluating and following up. The implication of optimizing the professional competence of educators at MTsN 7 Jombang is by mastering the educational foundation, mastering teaching materials, compiling teaching programs, implementing teaching programs, assessing results and learning processes so that the implementation of optimization goes well. The direct influence is to solve the problems faced in the teaching and learning process. The direct influence on students is the creation of a good teaching method, because with supervision the principal can find out mistakes or lack of teachers in carrying out their duties, then proceed with coaching, looking for solutions to solving these problems.
